The Baverstock School Sports Partnership (SSP) aims to bring together people who are involved in delivering PE and sport to young people in South Birmingham. We believe that by working together we can make a real difference to the quality and quantity of PE and sporting opportunities for young people within the partnership.
The partnerships core team is made up of the Partnership Development Manager (PDM), School Sport Co-ordinators (SSCO's), Competition Manager (CM) and Primary Link Teachers (PLT's). Teachers and colleagues from primary, special and secondary schools, as well as parents, volunteers, coaches and community club representatives are coming together to improve the sporting provision in South Birmingham.
This teamwork is also reflected in the activities undertaken by the young people themselves as pupils come together to engage in more competitive sport and lead activities in their own and other schools as well as within the local community.
Additionally the Baverstock SSP aims to work with key partners to ensure a collaborative approach in helping to improve PE, school and community sport and ensure the offering, take up and retention in all areas is as good as it possibly can be.
Key partners include the three constituencies across which the Baverstock SSP is located:
